I started looking for an E36 Evo M3 and have obviously also looked at insurance. I'm 27 with 8 years no claims, no accident or convictions at the quotes are comming out at around £900 - 1000 is this reasonable?,

Did seam quite alot as i am used to paying £350 to insure an E30 M3.

Also can anyone recomend a decent compine to insure with, most main stream insurers seam reluctant to quote me.

We use Liverpool Victoria as they seem to be one of the few insurers who don't insist on a tracker.

My wife (who is over 45!) paid about £750 Fully comp on an E36 M3 and now pays a little more on our E46 M3, so your quote doesn't sound too bad?

Try www.swiftcover.com

I am 36yrs old with 9yrs NCB + clean licence and to insure my 2004 E46 M3 fully comp came in at £568-00 incl legal and protected NCB!! Shop around and you should be able to reduce the premium!

Doesn't sound too bad - I'm 25 with 5yrs NCB and my M3 Evo through Admiral is £1000 with protected NCB - they don't insist on Tracker (in fact, they wanted to charge me £14.50 to add it to the policy!).

Have any of you thought of putting your wife/girlfriend on the policy, as I did this and it brought it right down.

Also type all the details into www.confused.com

Worked for me as well. She only passed her test a year ago eek

Good thing is she refuses to drive it. Shame

Your quote sounds pretty good considering your age, certainly not expensive.

If you use www.confused.com , change you name and house number to the one next door. find the cheapest then call that company with your correct details or use their own site, and you'll get it even cheaper....confused have to get their money from somewhere (commission).

I had a phone round yesterday and managed to get it down to £800 at Loydds LSB which seams pritty good to me.

I tried BMW insurance and they needed to know every option on the car before they'd quote, She wouldn't quote as we weren't sure if leather was an option or not!

I got mine for £590 fully comp with protected no claims. Admittedly that's on a non-Evo E36 M3. but I'm only 25 with 5 years NCB.

Yep i found my current quote through those (£1,400) which is £1,000 cheeper than it was last year through my previous insurers. Its probably where i live in central London that doesn't do me any favors.

Just explain to the insurers that the car is only badged as an M for marketing purposes, that should get you some discount.
