Any one really well up on M3 E30 interior specs?
Discussion
I'm not an expert here, but recently wanted to repair the seat on an E30 325i that I am renovating - if you supply the chassis number of the car, any BMW dealership can look up on the computer the details of the seat cover material, and presumably door trims, that your car came from the factory with. They did something similar for me on a door trim panel for an E36 M3 EVO.
The most common interior was the tan/ecru color, then black, then red, and then grey. If there was something wrong with the door panels, it would have been easiest to have replaced them with the black. However, it is quite possible that they were black originally. It is certainly unlikely that something happened to both doors and they both had to be replaced. One door could have been so damaged somehow that it had to be replaced and the cheapest and most available would have been to get 2 black panels.
Try asking the guys on www.bm3w.co.uk if they dont know then it hasnt happened
