E39 535 sport Audio problems!

Afternoon all.
Any of you with a 5 series E39 shape with the full spec package. (TV, Sat nav, Disc changer,etc) had problems with the sound disappearing. Every now and again when i go over a bump the sound will turn off. meaning the sat nav - radio - CD - even the parking sensor everything controlled by the volume nob goes dead.
Its very frustrating and i can't see how to get into the back of the head unit to have a look.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I cant help - mines a 535i but I have DSP which is completely different wiring to that of a standard system (much to my disappointment!). Though sounds like a loose connection or the like. Have you made sure that everything is connected up correctly with all of the clips secured? You can also take the head-unit out - take off the knob (!?!) and then you can get to a screw there. Gently prise the unit out from that side and you should be able to see the other screws - be warned though, they are torx ones so make sure you have a set available before you start. It might be a crap connector at the back of the unit....
