Dilema on choosing my new set of tyres
Discussion
My current set of tyres are coming to the end of their life (especially the rears) and am currently deliberating on which set to get next.
The Alpina Roadster S came with michelins but I find them to be abit conservative and was looking for something abit more aggressive - so current contenders are:
Bridgestone SO3's
Pirelli Neros/Rosso/Corsa's
Continental contact sports
Goodyears
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best all rounder - I've heard the Pirellis are quite good but not sure which variant is the best all rounder.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
Rich

I believe Alpina have specific tyre recomendations for each of their models
On the wheels and tyres section on their website www.alpina.de they list
MICHELIN Pilot Sport 2, incl. Mobility Kit or Bridgestone Potenza Run Flat for the Z4, but only list the Michelin as standard fitment on the Roadster S
Your handbook may give further details, which IMHO are worth sticking to (after all their expertise is why you purchased an Alpina as opposed to a regular Z4)
Might be worth checking out www.thealpinaregister.com and asking the question there if your not already a member

The Pilot Sport 2 is already one of the most aggressive compounds on a road based performance tyre. Bridgstone S-03s are nowhere near as performance oriented (I have used them as a spare set on my CSL), Goodyear F1 GSDs are more biaised towards wet weather, and not as performance oriented as the PS2s and the only other comparable tyre in your selection is the Pirelli Rosso Neros. Corsas would be more performance biaised but not comparable for all weather ability and they don't come in the 19" sizes. Continental SportContacts are probably the most 'conservative' tyre in your list.
Have a read of the following tyre test for a little more detail.. www.tirerack.com/images/tires/tests/CandD_gy_f1_gs_d3/CandD_gy_f1_gs_ds.pdf
When I owned my Alpina Roadster S I found the PS2 were a perfect match (particularly when I ran it in the Sport Pack chassis config). I used them on the Nurburgring for the EVO article and at Bruntingthorpe for this months Total BMW test and each time they performed faultlessley.
