E34 brake pads

hello all.

ive just had the front brake pads replaced on my E34 535. i realise i have to take it easy for a bit whilst they 'bed in' but they feel like they are hardly stopping the car, im being quite gentle with the brake pedal but still, the braking feels really soft. is this how its supposed to feel? (i dont remember the last time they were changed but im sure it didnt feel like this)

Did they bleed the brakes att he same time? Sounds like air/ leak in the system. Badly bedded brake pads I hae had before were very kard to press rather than soft.
