I ahve just been told by my insurance Co that i need either tracker or toad fitted to the Z4M. Any recomendations as to which is better and what should I expect to pay?

Many Thanks

Although this doesn't directly address the question, it's worth asking your dealer whether they've got any offers on at the moment. I'm collecting my Z4 Coupe in a couple of weeks time and the dealership phoned just yesterday and offered to fit Tracker "Monitor" for about £150 rather than the standard £460. I've subsequently had a look at how much it costs elsewhere and £150 seems to be a pretty good price. Dunno whether its just my dealer or a nationwide offer.

Still have to pay the annual fee of about £120 on top, of course.

Tracker is pants.

I recommend RAC Trackstar Plus.

Ashok - In what way is Tracker "pants"? Have you had bad experiences with it?

I know a number of people who have had their Tracker equipped vehicles stolen and never recovered.

In one case all the police vehicles in the area with tracker receivers were off the road on the day the car was stolen. Not fit for purpose in my experience.

I-MOB.

Same idea as a tracker device however you (the cars owner) have control over the car as well as the Operations Centre.

Just the thought that i can not only tell the thieves i'm about to ruin their day as they sprint off down the road, but the fact i can stop the car either straight away or liase with the Opps Centre/Police & actually set-up an arrest.
