just discovered that the availabaility of new bridgestone run flats is nigh impossible. If I change to normal tyres , does anyone know of insurance or legal requisites that may prevent me from doing so .ie no spare wheel /tyre .
Thanks
Thanks
I posted about this a while ago. I was told there is no legel requirement to have a spare, but if you do, it must confirm to the usual standards.
The eneny has run flats on her Mini, and these will be changed to normal tyres asap. My neighbour got a small puncture in his run flat resulting in a new tyre vs a £10 repair bill!
Runflats are repairable in the same way as rehular tyres. When I find the document that BMW gave us about that I shall update.
You can swop from runflats to regular tyres at any time with out any implications or effecting insurance.Just dont forget you need a spare or Mobilty kit (fitted to M power or Cooper S).
If you use the BMW mobilty kit then this foam/sealant can be cleaned out and an effective repair carried out-as long as its a regular puncture-ie nail, thorn etc.
