I think it's worthy of a thread on its own, but has anyone actually driven one and got any views on performance, economy and realistically how it compares to a petrol? I'm looking at replacing my Audi S3 with an everyday workhorse and this looks interesting particulary in the touring lay out, I hadn't even considered a BM before and was blindly going down the path of another S3 but these don't look that much slower and the mpg is n ot to be sniffed at.

Not driven one, but what is the £price difference between a D3 touring and a larger engined 330d Touring with decent sports suspension?

It got rave reviews in Evo and Autocar...

If it is anything like my B3S except does 40mpg, then it will be a cracker!

Go on... have a test drive.

Alpina D3.

Forget comparison with 330d, that is one very serious and expensive car....

£26,995 inc, Choice of alloys, Metallic, Half Leather, Alpina Suspension and handling kit, Spoilers, 197 PS (German horsepower to you and I, and yes I know it is not exactly equivelant to BHP, but close enough).

Check it against 320d M sport and that is the real value. The very best riding E90 I have driven. I have driven everything released to date.

If you want to drive it, send me a PM after the weekend.

It is F***ing brilliant.
