I've just about decided to take the plunge and get myself back into an M5 having sold my E39 earlier in the year. I think I will be buying a nearly new 2006 car with <10K mls. What should I be paying? I've seen the M6's drop but the M5's haven't shifted much.

I'm looking for much the same. I reckon £60k is about right, with bronze cars being a lot cheaper.

M6 overpriced = big fall in price

M5 something of a bargain = prices holding up well

Tut tut Mr Clarke!!

M6 overpriced at £80K plus but performance bargain of the year at £60K ish. M5 is lovely but if you don't need the extra doors buy an M6 (with full leather) and get all the goodies for free (well relatively)

Seem to be down to £55k already. Not that this is bad or anything, its perfectly normal since the cars are on an 05 so around 1 year old - pretty much all of the killer deprechiation will occur on leaving the showroom so its still a bit of a bargain. My god, its Porsche eating performance for a fraction of the cost.....

I soo need one - but there is no way I can afford one... shame...

Well, I'm due a change.... Like most people considering an M5, an RS4 is a pretty strong contender too, especially as I can get an estate and chuck the dog in the back..

Because of the waiting list for the M5, it will hold its money very well
