Fellow Anvillites,

Hoving into yesterday's crosshairs was the www.regal-auto.co.uk company, sole purveyors of creations from the nominated within the thead's title.

It reads well and at just over £7k inc vat, looks fine value.

It gives a claimed 600+ bhp but no mention of torque reprofile.

Clearly, this needs investigation: any members got the requisite word on such a thing, generally or specifically?

Frankly, I need it, now.

Its not the same thing, but I did meet a chap who had a E39 540i with a supercharger. Sounded great and went like a rocket. The car was an auto so it wasnt the fastest to 30 say, but once it got into its stide with the gearbox it was a real rocket. It was one of those cars what always brought a smile to your face. He spent around £6000 for the fitting and it transformed the car. But it was no M5 still - just a very quick 540i. I really dont know anyone who has a supercharged M5 though - have you tried the M5Board? I am sure there are a few in the US who could comment....

There is a chap who lives near me has a tweaked 540i with around 320BHP. He wants to supercharge it, but I have to say that he car is pretty damn good to start with (updated and sensibly mod'ed). So maybe a supercharger is a bit overkill.

From what I have been hearing though the VF system is the easier and simpler system to install. They are also more reliable and require less maintenance - though with a slightly less power gains.....

Take a peek at CA Automotive ( www.ca-autotech.co.uk/e39-bi-compressor-conversion.shtml ) and there is also a chap in sweden that has done an M5 supercharger, its on the Bm3w board somehere. Drop me a line and I'll send you some more links.

Its a definite for next year if they can prove the reliability is there.
