Hi Guys

I'm thinking about buying a second hand M3 convertible (about 2003 model). Can somebody let me know what the service intervals are and the approximate cost of them.

Also, are there any nasty surprises with ownership? I'm currently running a TVR Tamora with the love/hate relationship Speed Six engine which requires a rebuild every 30k miles or so, any similar issues?

Cheers

Chris

Plenty of info around on this one on here for service schedules, off the top of my head every 13 or 14k miles.
Prices range from oil change £190 to the big ones for around 1k
As for the car it self as long as you buy one with a BMW warranty you should not have any worries.
Parts aren't cheap pads and discs from BMW are 1k for the full set and tyres will set you back at least 7-800 bar for a set of pilot sports.
Great car go in with your eyes wide open and you should be fine.

Cheers Rob05

I had had a look around on the BMW website and other M3 sites I'd stumbled across but couldn't find anything about the interval and cost of servicing.

Thanks again.

Just checked my books this should help.
Running in check at 1200 miles ££££ ?
Oil service at 13000 £190
Inspection 1 at 25000 £630
Oil is my next one at 37000 £190
Inspection 2 should be at 49000 for around 1k

Remember if you buy one without the BMW warranty you wont be able to renew it so you really need to find a car that has some already on it.
The current cost is £1050 with £250 excess.

I though that you could, as long as you have a however many piont check done by BMW you could pay your dosh and you are covered, just like with Porsche.

I might be wrongh though..... stranger things have happened
