Misses company car in up for renewal, is the 120D worth the extra over the 118D?
Going for the SE,as she needs the parking sensors.
Anyone got the optional 18" type 217 alloys? do they make the ride far to hard?

Well a factory-run 120d came 5th overall in the recent Nurburgring 24h race...

Can't comment on the 118d vs. 120d debate, but I'd think long and hard about 18" wheels. I've got a 130 running 18" wheels, runflat tyres and sports suspension, and it's rock hard. Almost as hard as my Tuscan, although it's a lot better damped. The car does look fantastic, but I'd be inclined to stick with 17s if they're standard.

I was astounded how bad the ride was on the standard 120d with 16" wheels. Although the tyre brand does have an influence on this. Try the 18" before deciding.

118d is breathless, 120d is impressively perky:- how important is performance to you?

I've had both as courtesy cars and hated both to tell you the truth, not as bad as the 116 petrol - you could'nt even tell whether or not your foot was on the accelerator from the performance.

All 1 series seem to have a fairly hard ride.
