325 oil change
Discussion
Whenever I've done an oil change (BMW or not) I always catch the oil in a washing up bowl, no idea what the capacity of the average washing up bowl is but I'd guess at more than 6.5l and they are about £1 from your local Wilko's, or you can just put it back in the kitchen sink and hope the wife doesn't notice

did al the oil changes, picked up a washing up bowl from tesco for................ 74p!!!! held all the oil, what a bargain!!!!!
Now for the difficult bit; pouring the old oil into the oil container (without spilling it)and taking it to the recycling centre for safe disposal.

got that part sussed to, bought a plastic bin (again at tesco) for a massive 99p.....poured the oil into it and got my (not amused) gf to hold the bin on her lap while i slowly drove to the oil recyling depot!!!!!!!!
Ah, good work. They don't have this crucial step in the Haynes manual!
have noticed two changes since changing the oil from magnatec to mobil 1.....first off, i used to have a quite annoying slight metallic tapping sound before the oil change which has totally gone.........and the second is that the engine now revs "much" more freely.......didnt think an oil change would alter things so much? guess im sticking to mobil 1 from now on
