If anyone can help with this I will be extremely greatful! Basically I parked my car up a couple of nights ago as usual, it had shown no signs of anything untoward happening, when I returned to the car in the morning it wouldn't start? there were no warning lights on at all infact everything seemed fine, but it wouldn't turnover at all. it's been into an independent bmw dealer who can't shed any light on the situation, and has gone into bmw in warrington today and now I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced this before?

Thankyou in advance,

Ant.

My 330 SSG had an interlock, preventing the car being started in gear (assuming you park it up in gear). One had to put into neutral before starting it, and occasionally it was a bit sleepy when getting into neutral. Is it possible the car does not think it is in neutral (either a sensor or a gearbox fault) and hence won't turn over, but is showing no fault on the dash?

I know it sounds a bit daft but i had this happen once, and it turned out that the bonnet catch wasn't registering as shut (although it was) and the ecu would not allow the car to start.

When I got my first one I took it on the Eurotunnel Shuttle and it wouldn't start at the otehr end. It started just as they came to work out how to tow it. I remembered to put it into neutral.

If this were due to the bonnet, I think you'd be getting the orang egear light on the dash.

Nope, this happened to my mate who borrowed my SMG2 car. The car started find, but then stopped at a junction on his way to work. It was because the bonnet wasn't shut properly, he had no warning lights.

spoke to the dealer today they say that it's the starter motor that has gone £525.00 to fix!!! and somewhere in between the bmw specialist and bmw the strut brace has gone missing!!!! so it looks like I'm going to be forking out for this as well!! I absolutely hate garages!!!
