Does anyone know of where would be the best place to look for 840 insurance. Mate at work is buying himself a 97 sport, he's 26 has no speeding tickets but no no claims also, lives in London but car will be parked on a driveway and can't seem to get any quote for less than £1,800. Seems a bit steep especially since the insurance on my TVR is less than that (surely a higher risk prospect since I also have no no claims).
Present quote is from Admiral. Any other ideas out there?

I found that www.confused.com very helpful with my M3.

Ok so i may be an extreme case here living in central London, having a clean licence, no claims or convictions in the last 3 years and the car being a group 20+ they saved me £1,100 , i couldn't finish filling out the detials fast enough!!!!!

By the way, that quote of mine (£1,400) is from Admiral!

Hope this is of any help.

M3John.

Ok...I'm somewhat older than your friend (43)and live in a rural location with the cars garaged but having had two previous 840Ci Sports I found a more cost effective way of insuring my lastest one is on a limited mileage policy termed a 'future classic' policy even though my car is fairly 'new' being a late '98 car. I can't remember the exact premium but I know it was only £400-and-something.

Maybe worth enquirying with a few brokers to see if they'll offer him such a policy?

Admiral / Confused / Elephant are all the same company.
Mate just insured a Mazza with elephant in central london, was considerbly cheaper than the others.

I thought that some of the companies were the same but to give an example elephant (my previous insurer) wanted £2,000 !
