Hi everyone,

i have just sent an email to the RBS and One Account outlining how disgusted I am with their response to our problem, each is saying it's nothing to do with them, go and see the other. I would be really grateful if you could send a very quick "Help Mike and Jon" type email to the contact us sections on www.rbs.com and www.oneaccount.com so as to show them the weight of support we have.

Thanks a lot,

Rgds,
Mike

Are you based in the three counties by any chance? I overheard a Consumer radio phone in a few weeks ago about a VERY similar case and the broadcaster was asking about why the Insurance wouldn't pay out and the reason was something along the lines of 'due care to protect against fraud'.... Not sure what the outcome was but if might be worth while contacting the guy on radio - I'll try to find out his name if you're interested?

Bear in mind that One Account and RBS are now one company so they cant blame each other.

One Account was started out by the Virgin group but a few years ago was sold to RBS, so surely they both cant blame each other!!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I would use everything at your disposal, banks generally do not like bad publicity and anything that shows them to be untrustworthy will be the most powerful.

I would write again to RBS but this time to Sir Tom McKillop and Sir Fred Goodwin, Chairman and Chief Exec respectively, explaining what has occurred and how little help/satisfaction you have received. Then tell then what you intend to do should you not get a satisfactory response from RBS. (Include copy of letter to press etc)

If no joy.

I would then write to press, local and national plus car magazines. Do as suggested write to 'Watchdog' and also write to the banking ombudsman who deals with complaints against banks. Also it would not hurt to write to your local MP. Threaten legal action and get a solicitor to draft a letter for you, there will be a charge but not excessive.

Good luck
