Hi all,
Anyone experienced a problem with this Cyclone Valve chap on a 2000 X plate 540? (Mrs H's car)
We had the engine warning light come on, and at a BMW main dealer, they have advised us this needs replacing at a cost of £500 +.

Not being too hot on these things, does this sound right?

thanks in

Its the oil seperator in the crankcase breather system.

One symptom of it failing is increased oil consumption and rough engine running.

I am told they are a bugger to change - I had trouble even locating mine as its so well hidden !

Thanks guys, puts my mind at rest as labour is the main cost. Being my lucky day, they also found Valley plate, Water pipes and inlet manifold gaskets leaking, added another £500 to the bill!

But they do have a lovely reception area! i wonder how they manage

Still, Mrs H loves the car, and it is the perfect complement to the rest of the fleet. We love our Vees, all 24 of them!
