dash lights m3 evo

sorry but this might be a stuip question but here you are. should the m logo on the dash light up, all my dash lights are working fine.

I may be corrected here but i believe not as mine has never been lit since owning the car.....Although it does have a light.....a gear change light for when your really gunning it

I had a brand new M3 Evo in 1997, and the M logo did not light up.

I think it is fair to say it shouldn't...?
