I am really going to attack my 17" classic alpina wheels,

However they are such a monumental task, i was wondering what the collective thought was towards the best wheel cleaner i can buy?

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly received.

Wonder Wheels is excellent, but bear in mind that all acid/alkali based cleaners will eat at the finish so use sparingly once you've blitzed them. Shouldn't do any harm once in a while though, but don't leave it on for more than 1-2 mins.

Meguiars Hot Wheels is also very good, and claims to be safe for all finishes.

I use Meguiars Hot Wheels on my Alpina 19 inch wheels.
Works great and as previously stated it claims to be safe for all finishes.

BMW/Alpina have agreed to replace my current 2 year old wheels under warranty due to minor corrosion around the tyre valves caused by a washer biting into the underside of the wheels.
Before they agreed to this they inspected all 4 wheels after informing me that any other blemish/damage would make the warranty invalid. They found nothing so I believe the Megiars to be safe to use as instructed.

I've used wonder wheels on Schnitzer split rims (I know, I know!) and it doesn't get the grime off the polished ally. Works great on the painted bits, but the flat rim just will not come clean! Even with wire wool it just doesn't come back.

If you'rs have polished alloy finish, beware!

Hi Adam. I use wonder wheels on my Alpina classics, as advised, very briefly.

I'd recommend Solvol Autosol for polished rims, but not on laquered polished rims.
