Hi All,

Having some problems with the front discs on my M3. I had new Zimmerman drilled discs and Pagid pads fitted a couple of weeks ago and they have warped after one trackday. This is the second time it has happened, and I am wondering whether anyone has experience of a standard size disc which has offered good trackday performance?

I am subsequently tempted to go the AP 6 or 4 Pot Conversion route, so any shared experiences of big brake conversions would also be useful.

Cheers

Simon

I have heard of this before but it depends on how new they were when you did the trackday. I have also heard that crossdrilled discs warp and crack easier than grooved ones.
I have a stop tech upgrade on the front of my 3.0 M3 and it is awesome, I have semi race pads on the back with braided lines all round...you can t go wrong really other than the price which was about 2k once fitted etc.

Zimmerman's are not designed for the track, AP 4 Pots are a huge improvement and what i'd recommend and what I use, email me if you want to know how to get them cheap!

I agree with above, there are no better than A.P. but if you are not yet in a position to upgrade to this degree,I would also recomend EBC discs with Red Stuff pads.I have these discs with Yellow Stuff pads(for fast road but more intended fo track use) and even on the road, they aren't to shaby.I was at Goodwood last year for the first shakedown in the e36 and melted the standard pads and discs (molten metal burns all around front rims)in just 5 laps! They were standard mind you and 325i hardware to boot,so now have fitted the above upgrade until winter when I will be installing A.P. 6 pots all round with 355mm/285mm discs.
