Spec'ing Z4 Coupe - colour?
Discussion
Choices, choices....
Order for the Z4 Coupe has been in for some time now, getting close to delivery so time to finalize spec. Decided on model easy enough (3.0i Sport, M bit too much for the daily commute, SE soft) but not sure on some of the finer detail of spec, mainly colour:
White is supposedly the 'in' colour at the moment, sorely tempted to go for it as I suspect white could look very, very good indeed - would be matched to black/silver interior. I suspect white could be a bit fadish and regretted 2 years down the line come sale time though, so current thinking has metallic black (those rear curves look tres cool) matched to either grey or black interior. I think the blue's are a little too bland, the red a bit too gaudy - although would work on the M?
Anyway, basic question is: white, silver, or black?
I think you can see them here: www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/index/0,5140,1156_160051043__bs-WjQ%253D%2540bb-Q1A%253D,00.html#
(I say I think as it behaves differnetly depending on your PC....)

I really wouldn't touch white. Unless it's an 'M' and then put huge M colour diagonal graphics on it!
Is arctic silver very very light? If so I'd have that with Black leather and matt black wheels - very mean looking.
My favourite though; because I think the shape is quite complex, would be dark green, with tan leather.
Oh well, I'm only wasting time here when I should be working. I think the Z4 coupe looks fantastic - hope you have lots of fun with it.

White is extremely faddish, and will date once it's not flavour of the month. Plus it's a nightmare to keep clean.
Just look at all the Z4 roadsters on the road at the moment. When the Z4 came out, everyone wanted Sterling Grey or Titanium Silver, and now they're absolutely everywhere and don't look special at all.
I like Bright Red (yes, it's vulgar, but thats the point), and looks brilliant with beige leather.

I agree - I'd go for dark metallic green with tan/cognac leather. Or possibly dark wine red leather. But sounds like that would need to be special order.
Otherwise black for that Batmobile look.
