Fellow PH'ers,

I have a 53 plate 330d and have read various posts about the 'ease' of chipping.

Been on DMS's & AMD's websites and it sounds like a jump from 204 bhp to c250 bhp is possible for less than a grand.

Who's had any experience of such chipping?

Is it traceable by the main dealer?

What does it do for the mpg? Yes odd question, given I'm after extra power, but I can easily do 2k miles a month, so don't want to dent the pocket.

Can anyone reccomend any particular company (I'm based in the North West)

Any other top tips gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

I have an '02 E46 330d Auto which started at 184 bhp.

The leaders in experience with tuning the 330d are AntandPete ( www.antandpete.co.uk ) and there's plenty of stuff on their website about working on an E46. In fact they've moved onto the E90 330d. Their E46 330d ran 320bhp at it's max for 2 Gumballs, but had chip+intercooler+injectors+turbo replaced.

I had a superchips upgrade fitted with them at their local place in Warrington for less than £500 and I am DELIGHTED with the result.

I reckon I've gained 20-30bhp and your 204bhp model is supposed to gain 40+ bhp with a ten minute chipping from superchips.

The work is invisible up to the point where you deliberately read the ECU, then it's evident.

Read my thoughts over there on this link

Will.

I've had my 193bhp 530d sport remapped to 230bhp and 510Nm of torque.

Check out www.bmwland.co.uk as there has been many discussions on there.

You're looking at under £300 for a standard remap with the price rising if you want a custom live, on the road, remap.

Oh yes, just remembered....your mpg is likely to go up.
