Starting problems.

I'm not a happy bunny.

Over the past couple of weeks my car has randomly failed to start on three or four occasions.

All the lights come on, etc but no noise from the front end. My initial thoughts are it's:

A: Immobiliser not cutting out.

B. Due to it being an Steptronic it could be the gearbox sensor that's playing about (can only be started in Park I believe).

C. Transponder in the key. I haven't tried the spare yet but I shall change to this I think.

Has anyone else had this problem? How was it fixed and was it expensive.

I hate problems like this. They always make me consider getting another car straight away.

Just for anyone's information who may come across the same problem.

It's down to the EWS unit not talking to the DME properly. EWS changed and recoded to get in sync with the DME and all appears to be fine....
