My car has it till the end of november is it worth doing? At 1095 pounds and 250 pounds excess per claim, seems very very steep.
Are these engines prone to going pop?
It seems dead money to me,unless of course the worst happens.Any thoughts you guys have would be very helpfull as i know nothing about these cars.

This is a tricky one.

I have only recently disposed of my E46 M3.

One, but not the only factor, was the warranty was up in a few months and I wasn't happy with the changes that BMW had made to the warranty package.

I also wanted something less frenetic,a bit bigger inside, that I could use everyday for mooching as well as charging.

In Feb mine had c£7.5k spent on new gearbox, prop, diff etc under warranty so it does have its merits.

You also don't state what age or mileage yours is - the early ones had bearing issues but I imagine these have all been sorted by now.

Ultimately its your call, but if on yours the common issues have already been dealt with under warranty, then why not use a good specialist and put the money you would have spent on the warranty toward any future issues that may arise.

Good luck !

Its a 53 plate with 32tmls, ive only just bought the thing so i'm not really thinking of selling, having said that if somethings work out it might have to go anyway. The car is seriously in good condition and feels like a new car to drive, thats why i asked the question whether i needed the warranty,if it was a boxster or 911 i'd know the answer, YES
I to feel the warranty is a rip off especially the 250 bar excess and i was complaining about porsche prices!

The BMW Car Club have negotiated a comparable warranty with Warranty Direct at a much more competitive price.
Details are to be announced in next months Magazine.

This will make interesting reading and will make Grant happy that BMW are loosing there customers.

also it wont be such an issue to buy a Bm without a warranty if someone is matching them like for like..

Cant wait for the car club magazine to drop on the door mat...

out of interest has anyone got a quote yet themselves?
