I have had the usual tweaks fitted, AP's with pagid all round, KW, camber etc and the car is amazing. After experiencing friends competition seats with harness's It made my seats (which I thought were the dogs) feel a little lame. I don't use the car everyday so a hardcore seat would suit.
Has anyone fitted a competition seat?, or offer advice on this subject.

2 x seats, cage and harnesses I'd love to do it but I use mine as my normal car and need the rear seats.

The answer is to stop when you are happy with it...

Think of the heritage also. There's an unfortunate tendency with BMWs to mod them over the top, whereas Porsche owners seem to respect the basic design heritage they're buying into and modify them more tastefully. So my answer would be modify and improve it whilst maintaining originality (i.e. the development guys at M Division would have loved to be a little more extreme, so when fitting replacement seats some owners have made sure they use the same design and style of alcantara trim. The key with any good modification IMO is to make it look like that's how the factory supplied the car, so if you can keep within those kinds of parameters then improve away..

Agree with your comments on keeping everything original. I despise over-modded cars. The reason for better seats is only for track days, the same reason I upgraded to AP brakes (which feel that good they could be standard fit.

Anyway I was thinking of some Recaro Profi SPG seats, not sure on mounts, harness etc. If I fix the seats I will no doubt sit lower but loose the ability to put a spare set of wheels in the back for track use. A friend had them fitted in his 996 and they felt and looked quality.
