Where can I buy OEM parts (other than main dealer) at a reasonable price?
And assuming I can buy else where:
A) Will it have the ///m logo stamp on the discs?
B) If not, what are recommended alternatives to OEM?
C) What am I looking to pay for changing all discs and pads (incl park brake shoes) and labour?
Thanks in advance, Steve

Euro car parts supply OEM items like break pads and discs (ATE i think) just not in BMW boxes so its well worth checking them out as they'll be a bit cheeper than a main agent but wont have the M logo on the hub part. Also if your a member of the BMW car club, GSF (German, Sweedish & French) car parts offer a similar service but with discounts to club members, but to be honest i haven't used them.

If you buy a copy of BMWCar magazine its packed full of offers and advertisers for that sort of `off the shelf` stuff, any WHSmiths will have a copy.

You'll have to post up and let us know what you find as my e36 M3 Evo will need new stoppers very soon.

One last thing, i'm not to sure what you maintence skills are like but i use a VERY good indipendent specilist to do anything that i cant do outside the house work for me. If you'd like some honest advice give Highams Park Motor Co. and ask for Clive on 0208-523-3443.

Happy motoring!

try www.c3bmw.co.uk for OEM parts at discounted rates. When I changed the brakes on my M Coupe I went for EBC Discs, red Stuff Pads and braided hoses. Cheaper than OEM and stops much better.

Just purchased the brake components from Euro Car Parts.
Got the 4 discs with front and rear pads, park brake shoes and sensors for £333 all in.
And the bonus is that the front discs are genunine BMW discs with ///M stamp and came in BMW box!
The same parts from Stealers was well in excess of £500.
Now, how much should I be paying for fitting?

That seems like a very good price to me mate !!!

As for a cost of fitting, i cant help you with that one as its the sort of stuff i'd do myself. Give that Highams Park a call i mentioned before, honestly i've found them to be very good with the work they've done for me. The guys there are all Ex-BMW master technicans so they know what they're talking about.

Brake pads and discs are all fitted including sensors (£90 labour).
The only poblem now is that the 'wear' sensor on the dashboard is illuminated even
though the sensors are new. What could be the problem?

The jury's still out on that one....i'll ask my dad tomorrow (car mechanic) see if he can throw any light on the subject for you.

You've probably already done it but i'd double check the connections again. I very much doubt it that you've to use a `reset tool` to get rid of the symbol illumated.
