Apart from the E90's aesthetic issues. The build quality is quite poor. Buy a E46 M3 instead

Matt,

I drove a 330i SE some time ago and found that the engine was fantastic. The E90 is substantially stiffer (structurally) than the E46 and the handling was significantly better. I've owned 4 E46's (3 x 330d Sport and 1 x M3) and currently have an E90 330d M-Sport.

The E90 shape is a definite grower. The interior plastic quality isn't quite up to E46 standards, but apart from that, it's a better car in every other way. Definitely a step in the right direction.

The only gripe I have is the runflats. They are very heavy as a tyre and add unsprung weight to each corner. I'll be getting normal tyres and a BMW puncture repair kit as soon as I can.

All the best
Matt

Speaking of swapping off the runflats; Does anyone know if it hits the used value (or has any other undesirable impact) if you swap the runflats for proper tyres (i.e. Pilot Sport II's)?

And has anyone done it and noticed the difference?

Andrew,

I know that people with 535d's have done it and it makes a noticeable difference. I may end up swapping for some PS2's and leaving the run flats in the garage for when I sell the car. I'm certain that it'll have no direct affect on resale.

Cheers

Cheers for the feedback folks, I'm quite happy with the look of the car and like Matt Oz I think the shape grows on ya, (especially in M spec/Graphite!)

Seems to be a distinct lack of choice on the wheels compared to current (just!) coupe?

Also no Harmon Kardon option on hi fi, just the DSP 7 thingy, is this as good MattOz?Anyone?

What does the voice control option cover?

Cheers
