LPG conversion for an E34 540
Discussion
'numbnuts' here on ph is a qualified lpg installer, he did my cherokee. Good job too..
The jeep was a big agricultural lump of an engine, so single poing lpg set up worked fine, with bmw engines, it has to be a sequential set up which is more complicated to install but gives better results.

just taking the lpg kit off my 740 4.4 before the engine goes to the BMW V8 engine graveyard.
Worked fine, sometimes on heavy load there isn't enough fuel going through which is a common problem. i managed 23.5 mpg on lpg over about 40k miles.
If you drive in europe it is worth going for a screw in adaptor filler, as you can then get the adaptor for europe as well.

With a sequential kit it is easy to up the fueling by plugging in a laptop with the required software - i have tried a couple of different setups on mine and it now runs like it does on petrol. Only if the incorrect kit is fitted (ie with less hp rating per injector) should the problem persist. It is not uncommon for a car with a v8 to run two vaporisers in order to ensure enough gas flow. Any clued up fitter will know about this though!
