My M3 02 plate Cab wont start HELP!!

Please help,

Ok so I put the car away in garage as normal last night(6ish) and tried to start it this morning (9ish) and it wouldn't start, plenty of battery power radio,windows working fine etc, even had the local recovery man come round to have a look and put more power on the battery but still no go.
When trying to start it clicks but doesn't turn over the guy said it could be the starter motor/solanoid (Excuse spelling if incorrect), so my question is really where abouts on the car is the starter motor is it easy to get to, and if it has gone are they expensive or alot of work needed???

Any advice or help is more than welcome.

John,

If it's manual, put it in gear and rock it, space permitting. If it's SMG, check that the bonnet is sitting properly. If it's SMG, open and close the bonnet and see if it resets itself!
