My car is in the (franchised) dealers for an oil service, at 13000 miles/33 months old. Has previously had an oil service when I bought the car a year ago at 2800 miles.
Dealer has just called asking whether I wanted an Inspection too - apparently there is no reason for the car to have one, no safety related items are exclusive to the Inspection and mechanically the car is fine.
1. Was I right to stick with the oil service?
2. What motive could the dealer have for proposing an inspection (other than to extract more £'s from my wallet)?
Thanks for your advice
PS Car is a 2.5 litre
PPS Dealer has just called, a tiny (5mm x 15mm)patch of corrosion on a rear alloy means that they are going to replace the wheel under warranty - perhaps they aren't so bad after all!
Edited to add:
See later posting - I'm well chuffed with the quality of service provided.
