any m3 owners had a vw r32
Discussion
wish i could just get cars out my system!!!
had an m3, but had to sell it last year to finance a new house. now got a mini. nice little run around, but need a bit of power/fun again.
cant justify (or afford) another m3. i've noticed that you can pick up an old shape vw r32 for under 16k, which is not a bad price.
anyone driven one? any comparison to an m3, at any level? handling, etc (don't snigger, i've never driven or even been in an r32.)
thanks

I have just moved from an R32 to an M3. R32's are very good cars and whilst not M3 quick can still move along at a fair pace. Build quality and reliability as with all modern VW's is superb. I had mine for 2-1/2 yrs and highest service bill was £240, so they are fairly cheap to run. Engine is not as smooth as the M3's but its still pretty good. Brakes are really good and 4WD means transaction is excellent in all coniditions.

The build quality on ours is rubbish. The dash creaks and rattles and VW refuse to look at it under warrenty after the first 3 months, the front seat bases have been replaced under warrenty for squeaking,we've had new top mounts, ball joints, lower steering arms and steering rack too.
You have to remove the front bumper to replace a light bulb as well, nice piece of design there
Still, it is a good laugh to drive and does have great traction.
