I Had a blow out last night on the M20 fortunately I was able to control the car to the hard shoulder and that my kids weren't with me,However my car does not have a spare wheel or a space saver why is this?

has anybody else had the same problem ie: blow out/flat tyre and no spares. is there not a space saver that could be available for the car just seems to me that it is a bit of a strange one.

Cheers
John

The M3 comes as standard with tyre presure detection which is fine for a slow puncture but no use whatsoever for a blow out. If I remember correctly there is also an electronic inflator as standard. The view is that puctures only happen, on average, about once every 100,000 miles so the rationale is that you are better having the hassle if a puncture ocurs than having to carry the additional weight, not to mention cost, of a spare.

Since the M3 has a staggered tyre setup (225 front/255 rear) a space save doesn't really make sense. Also, with the exhaust setup, not even sure there is space for one in the trunk?

There isn't room since the exhaust fills the area where the spare wheel is on all the other 3-series motors.

Remember that the using tyre foam will require you to replace the tyre - if it's a repairable puncture you may wish to arrange recovery of the car via AA etc and get the tyre fixed that way.
