Hello all! New member here though been lurking for a while now!! Just after some help from those who own this or have in the past. Really want to get one to replace my Scooby this year. Always wanted a vert and the 330 Sport has always stood out for me. Would be going for an auto too. The questions I have though are:

Fuel consumption. Frogetting actual mpg figures how many miles are you guys getting from a tank and what's the cost of filling her up? For example in my Scoob it costs between £40-45 to fill up with Optimax and I get anywhere between 200-240 miles from that.

Ride quality/wind noise etc? Is it a fairly comfortable car to drive? Obviously the sports suspension will make for a fairly stiff ride but overall I'd think it's a pretty refined ride? How is it on a day where it's pissing down with rain for instance?! And in the winter is the cabin colder than a normal cars?

Rear vision/parking. Something you get used to? How do you guys find the visibility out of the rear?

Any major/important changes to the model i.e any particular model year to look for?

Finally and prob the main thing is when to buy! I know winter is always the best but as we're heading into Spring/Summer now I'm guessing it's prob not the best time. Also with the new model coming out next year I'd guess this will hit the prices too. A friend of mine has one that he's going to be selling this November. Owned it from new, full BMWSH, Topaz Blue/Beige leather, Nov 2001 model and will have around 100k up on it by then. Do I wait till then or buy earlier is the dilemma. Everytime we get a nice day I'm itching to get one!!

Also if anybody has any opinions on the CLK320 vert in comparison I'd be interested to hear as these seem to come in slightly cheaper than the 330 now. I know it wouldn't be as sharp or sporty a drive but any thoughts would be good to hear.

Anyway thanks in advance for any replies!

Dan.

Can't really help on the other points you would like some help on, but my wife runs a 330 Clubsport, which is basically a 330 Sport. Fuel consumption seems to run at a steady 24 mpg under most driving conditions, and up to 28 mpg if cruising on the motorway at a steady 85 ish. The tank holds approx £50 quids worth of unleaded.

I have owned several Subaru's previously and always found that I would struggle to get more than 200 miles out of a tank of super.

I would imagine that the convertible would offer similar consumption, maybe slightly less due to the added weight.

Hope this helps
