Hi Harry,
Harry, my rear wash doesn't squirt. The wiper moves, but no fluid emerges. I remember you have a 528i touring.....does the fluid come from the reservoir under the bonnet??

Cheers Harry.
Mike.

Well Mike, I go away for a couple of weeks and you've virtually changed the complete fleet!

What sort of mpg do you get out the 528i Mike? is it a manual or Auto? (whats the difference I know youve had both! lol)

Think we may finally push the old man into an E39 very shortly (its been a long job!!)

I know, I've been a bit busy....for various reasons.
Minimax bought my TVR as I was after another project.....Dickymint happened to mention he had a potential project, so I bought it without seeing it....it's now sat in my drive.

Fancied another beemer, so bought a cracking oxford green with beige leather 528i touring with masses of options for a good price, it's even got a telly, but I don't understand why as for obvious reasons you can't watch it when you are moving...so what's the point. ...

I am an obvious fan of the E39 after having five of them. From choice, my favourites are either the 528i or the 540i. As you say I have had both....for ease it's the steptronic everytime, if you want to give it more of a spanking, it's the manual. Personally I think steptronic suits it perfectly and certainly makes good progress.

Tellys dont work at speed as BINB prefer you to be looking out the windscreen rather than the TV ... can be sorted though

Old mans thinking 520 2.2 or 525 manual

I'm thinking 525 manual or auto but I have spied a very attractive 99 V 528 auto, as his about to retire mpg is a consideration

Phil,
The 528i is no more thirsty than the 523i I had (2.5). If it is then it's hardly noticeable. But on a positive side, the 528 has a lot more poke. I would go for the 2.8 if I were you.

Just got that Peter, a bit of a project. A good base to start on, and it makes a lovely noise.

Don't know tbh I only ever top up the bottle(s) in the front> I've never knowingly came across a boot one, not saying there isn't one though, just it hasn't run out yet .

If it's the same as the 325i Touring there's a reservoir in the boot. You can just see the white plastic filler cap on the LH side as you look at it.
