Guys

Have found a 318SE, V reg (99) newer shape, 70K, looks very clean, FSH, MoT and Tax for 6 months - it's up for £4,995 which seems quite good to me.

Any views ?

Sounds alright to me.

Were you looking for views on the price or the choice of car (just want to clarify before everybody jumps in and tells you that what you really want is a corvette/saab/wedge/M3)

The price more than anything. I already have an '04 911 C2 Cab and this is would be an additional everyday + winter hack.........price looked quite low to me, so wanted some thoughts/views.....

The new 3 series has been out long enough to send the e46 prices into freefall I suppose. The cooking models never held their prices anyway.

Sounds like an ideal hack, there's nothing much I can do to my BMWs to make them break, in fact they've been the most bullit proof cars i've ever owned (reaches for wooden desktop).

The only regular fault I'm aware of is the water pump (mine was replaced at 60k miles), cost £150 fitted.

Sadly the price reflected the condition........had quite a number of shopping trolley dents, was originally an import, the engine never got warm and the airbag light was on permanently, so the search will continue.
