nav question (again)

i'm looking at a newer disc for my(04) sat nav, but i'm hearing lots of tales regarding problems with compatability and copied discs for sale. i have the details from my dvd in the boot so i think i know what i need? any one have any advice, is it a big problem?

'back up' versions works fine on Mk4 nav with v.26

We bought the high res map from the dealer, though considered a few on ebay. It works fantastically - street level in Europe. We're about to sell the car so it'll be on ebay in a couple of weeks!
