Does anyone know if BMW plans to drop the 3.0 litre diesel into the 1 series ?

I'm not sure - but it would be a pocket-rocket for sure. I'm still holding out for the 335d (E92 coupe).

I can have a word with a mate who is in the know if you're interested - he's an M Master Technician (apparently!!).

I think you may live in the same road as me - I've a Cerbera and a scimitar - you'll have heard the cerb if I'm right!

Let me know on the 1 series.

Cheers

Yes, indeed you do live in the same road as me, heard the Cerbera many a time......nice car.......love the sound.........

Would be good to know about the 130d if it's not too much trouble.....sadly I think my toy may have to go in the summer after I've had some fun with the top down

Scott,

Thought as much. I did lose track of your plate moving between cars for a while

I'll send an e-mail to my mate and get the inside line.

Give me a shout if you're up for a blast once the weather gets a bit better (and a bit less slippy!!).

Cheers

Scott,

Speedy reply from my mate:

Apparently, there's no news of them doing this in the dealer network. That's not to say they won't, but its unlikely to be just around the corner.

Keep the 911 - you know it makes sense!

Yeah the plate did move, I only moved back from the US last March and had the trusty (but not very rusty) Rover 416 for a while, followed by the old car and then the new one,........the confusing bit for you will be that the plate was on my old car which was used by my brother who also lives at the bottom of the same road!

Always up for a blast, feel free to give me a shout.

Scott,

I did wonder how you managed two houses and 2+ cars!!

It makes sense now. (Brother, commuter, Astra, I remember).

I'll give you a shout when the sun's out - let me know if you're twiddling your thumbs!!

Cheers

Rob

I've got a 118d 'rag about' courtesy car at the moment. Excellent steering, handling, but gets a little unsettled on back roads. 130d would be stupidly fast. Shame about the ride and indicators.

Aye, the stock 231 bhp coupled with 369lbs-ft would be awesome in a 1-series, with 15% more to come with a chip.
