Hello all,

I have 20" Alpina wheels on my E65 7 series. And just wanted to know what the tyre pressure should be set at? As they are not standard on this car, the manual is no help.

Thanks!

With wheels that big i believe pressures are generally set different winter and summer and also the sort of driving you do comes into it.
I would be tempted to shove 32/36 psi in f/r and see how it feels.

Phone a tyre specialist or the place you got the tyres from. They should be able to give you the correct PSI.

There isn't such a thing as a 'correct' psi though.

Too many 'depends' with wheels that big. I asked a guy last night who has 20s on his XKR and he uses 3 different settings at different times for the best results.

Oh, I do so humbly appologise. Perhaps 'recommended' would be a better word to have used?

You're totally missing the point still.

The odds are that the place who sold the tyres won't have a clue!

It all depends what car the tyres are going on, how wide the wheels are are, what sort of driving you're doing, etc., especially as they are presumably a non-standard fitment at 20" in diameter.
My friend sells high performance car tyres for a living and he told me ages ago that pressures are largely a personal thing and will always be a compromise. Getting a figure from a tyre shop is like plucking a number out of the air.
Experimenting is the way to get the 'right' pressures.
