Does anyone know if they offer (now or in the past) the option of a flappy paddle gearbox on anything other than the M3 ? I asked the dealer who did not seem to be certain!

Yes they offered the option of the SSG (sequential shift gearbox, I think?) on the 3 series non M cars, from what I have read and been told by a few BMW dealers this system is poor, and is not a desirable option come trade in time.

The standard auto box seems to the best option on non M cars, apart from the manual box of course.
