Hello, all the csl nuts, i need some good advise. Gave csl a brutal work out at brand hatch on saturday, whilst licking the backdoors of race spec 360's & gt3's i've burnt the brake pads off, scorred/warrped rotors, pulled the rubber of front left cup and drove home using hand brake. Never had so much fun at 10mpg!

Need new brake for next track day, anyone know about the big brembo kits over ap racings 6 pots. Meet another csl on track he tells me there is the knowledge on PHeads, where to go get the pads fluid rotors and calipers.

help would be appriciated

The other CSL here. The person to talk to seems to be Doctor D (of "evo" fame). I've had all my brakes so far done by Joe Gautier's Hyper Turismo Racing and have to say that after you left, on the final round after most people had either been scared by the light or broken down, my brother, another GT3 RS and I pounded round Brands hatch on an empty circuit for 30 mins of f**king hard driving and my pagid RS19s, goodrich hoses and AP 5.1 fluid held on in there with the porsches (and their bloody PCCBs). They rumbled and grumbled but managed to take the punishment...somehow.

My opinion is that the best thing to do is AP 6 pots with rs19s or 29s on front with race fluid and then just the hoses, pads and fluid on the back (this is what i'm upgrading to in early spring). You shouldn't have any problems with this setup whatsoever. Seeing as your front disks are screwed it might be a good idea to change to the full AP setup (discs included).

Get in contact with Joe, get onto www.bm3w.co.uk (he's the best person to talk to about these things!)

Hope this is of use

Billy

P.S. hope you changed those front cups!!!

Extra camber on the front will help the front tyres wearing through on the outer edge issue, 2 degrees is possible with the standard suspension, BMW did mine for me.

AP 6 pot front conversion with braided hoses, decent fluid and RS29 front, RS19 rear for me - works great and I'm getting 6 odd track days per set of pads

You *may* find that joe @ HTR has ceased trading so another source of AP & Pagid may be required. Don't be tempted to use the Ferodo DS2500's that come as std with the AP's, I made that mistake (on the rears) and they weren't up to the job at all.

This -2 on the fronts, is a little needed on the back to help that round a the bends, I don't really use car on the road, so don't mind going all the way with the track set up. Can a good wheel shop do this or does it need to go into BMW for one of thier special setup machines?

Shame i missed the last 30 mins at brands, maybe next time, can't wait to get car all trick tracked up and have another blast. This car just can't hack the punishment of brands and my foot on that pedal every 15 secounds.

DoctorD has got a full set of geo recomendations up on BM3W (username over there is SteveD), I guess many places will be able to do it but I got BMW to do it on their KDS machine.

If you aren't worried about road use then you can get camber plates and go to -3 on the front which gives enough clearance for rear wheels on the front and 265 tyres all round, apparently the wear on the fronts with this setup is very even accross the tyre.
