I need to sell my 94 E36 3 litre non-Evo M3 coupe quickly (leaving the country in 3 weeks) so I don't have the time to do a private sale.

Good spec - 84,250 miles, black with black motorsport leather, auto window closure alarm/immobiliser, tracker, sunroof, aircon, evo look clear lenses front and back, all docs/certification for full BMW main dealer servicing for life of car, 10 stacker CD with Kenwood MASK head unit.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience/advice on good dealers/traders who would purchase a 94 M3 as many of them seem to only look at E46 models.

It's got full BMW servicing etc. but main dealers seem to not be interested in E36 models.

It's got 1 green light before the next service (oil change type) and tyres will be ok for another few months so wasn't sure if I should replace these before trying to sell it. Also the rear exhaust outer skin has come off (I had it cut off as it was just hanging off). The exhaust is ok (passed MOT happily a few months ago) and I didn't want to pay £350 for a new exhaust when I was about to sell it. I figured the new buyer could put the type of exhaust they wanted onto it as opposed to me putting one on and then adding it onto the cost of the car.

Any advice/tips/etc would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

As Daz...You should advertise it here. I think you'd struggle to get any trader to give you a decent price as there are so many E36 M3s up for sale now there wouldn't be much of a margin in it to justify their risk and outlay? There are just too many and without anything 'different' or out of the ordinary buyers have lots to choose from and hence the market is very tight. Dealers are like all of us i.e they to need make a living too! Sometimes people forget that?

I'd say you're probably best off getting it serviced especially as it's only to be an 'Oil Service' as one light left to go just doesn't look good, does it? And it will give potential buyers a bit more confidence that you've been serious about looking after the car.

Personally I don't think the tyres or exhaust would put me off buying as long as it's been acknowledged in the advert. Tyres wear out...a couple of back ones are going to cost what? Maybe £200? The buyer can then choose what tyres they want. In terms of the exhaust that wouldn't stress me too much either. Even if it really was totally shot...loads of good second-hand ones come up all the time on Ebay..."Cheap as Chips!"

If it were me? I'd get it serviced and sell it myself privately acknowledging the two issues above.

Sounds like a nice car...Good luck!

See if www.imc-online.co.uk/home.html can help you - they specialise in M3s, and might be able to make you an offer.

Stick it on eBay. Don't expect to sell it through the auction but it's a cheap way of advertising to the entire country & you should get some decent enquiries through it. Make sure you include pics.
