Hi Guys, be gentle with me being a newbie

Having had the pleasure of previously owning what I regard as the best BM of the 80's if not all time. (possibly with the exception of the CSL)
I might soon be looking for another not many coming up on Trader or Exch at the moment so any ideas from you guys?

Or anyone selling & open to a cheeky bid

Tks

Have you seen the one at Munich Legends. www.munichlegends.co.uk must be about the best money can buy, but it needs to be at the price their asking

Twenty-Three grand. .

£23,000!

Even a red F-reg with 124,000 miles and horrible ghetto wheels is £13,000!

I quite like that red M-coupe though.

Seasider - they all seem to be hibernating at the moment, although there's one up for sale on the BMWCCGB site www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/rm/adverts.asp?section=M%20Power%20Cars at what seems a decent price. It's over 100k but he says he's had the chain done so providing he has (!) you should be fine.

You may want to have a look in the back of BMW Car mag too, that's where I got my M6 although again from memory there wasn't much out there last time I looked.

Probably a very nice car indeed...BUT

Surprising that ML describe their M635 as 'concours' when even from those pics I can see that the driver's seat outer bolster has wear on it?

Even more surprising that their 'concours' M635 with 18K miles on the clock driver's has wear on it greater than my on E30 M3 with close to 90K on the clock?

Also, surprising that a 'concours' car has "a couple of minor blemishes"...Every BMW concours I've ever been to (even just 'regional' ones) cars with blemishes on them wouldn't stand a chance!

I'm also surprised...because I don't know about anyone else; maybe others have seen cars just rolling off production-lines? But I've never seen a 'mint' car...I've seen 'mint' coins i.e straight from a Mint and never touched by human hands...

Finally, surprised by 'immaculate'!...I thought that was a bit like 'mint'...ie. 'untouched'...You know a bit like Mary and the Nativity...and all that sort of seasonal stuff?

Actually, the really surprising thing is that in my experience those terms are rarely used in professional 'Motor Trade Speak'...More usually 'Wide-boys' on Ebay?

Surprised that ML feel the need to use such hyperbole?

Now...I like a good condition car as much as any of us...but let's be realistic about those terms...especially the only meaningful one which is 'concours'. A recent series of articles run in the BMW car Club Magazine suggested that to achieve serious concours contender status might take three years of work (evenings etc) by a private individual! This is way more than even I could contemplate as I actually do like to occasionally drive a car! However, having seen many concours winning cars one could easily believe that people do spend this much time and effort into achieving a truly 'concours' car!

I'm surprised that ML haven't been more 'matter of frank'? Why not something like: "Super, low mileage example...concours potential"...I'd take that a lot more seriously than all the other stuff?

Yours sincerely,

Surprised of Tunbridge Wells

I'm looking to buy (LHD) one when I move to Germany next year as an everyday cruiser.
However my priorities are to get a pristine 993 RS (LHD of course)first and whatever is left over and whatever I can cobble up I'll put into the M6.

I've also been a life long shark nose fan having owned an E21 since 1990. I'm fairly confident I know what to look for in this exceptional beasts.

If you want to compare notes on what to look for- perhaps we could chat offline?

Now that DOES sound like a nice car...and properly advertised! I'm sure the important difference is not lost on everyone? Nowhere are the words 'mint', 'immaculate' etc used. "One of the best available" is probably also an understatement...I like that ad!...I like that car!!!

only had it 18mths would'nt worry me too much, i'd be more interested in the provenance and condition.

4 previous owners on a 17yr old car is pretty low, yes i expect there are cars out the with 1 or 2, but if they have had them this long I cant see them being in a hurry to sell them!

Anyway, closest yet to Seasiders wish list, its a highline in Black with Black so got to be worth a look!

That car has two different sets of wheels. I prefer the original smaller wheels.
