Anyone have experience of DMS Automotive?
Discussion
A fellow member of the z4um.com contacted the above company to enquire about remapping our 3.0 Z4's. As anyone used the company before? The power gains see very good, although quite expensive. Were the power ratings as expected?? Also Superchips can do it for £295 but only 14bhp.
"i spoke to www.dmsautomotive.com about the 3.0l Z4 and they are claiming a 24-25bhp increase (231-256 bhp) and a 18ftlbs of torque increase as well as removing the top speed limiter - all completely undetectable by BMW for £695 + VAT"
Thanks
Graeme

That sounds cheap (cheaper than AMD certainly). I'm assuming that the same gains/price would apply to an E46 330?
Also, have you heard of these guys? www.west-tuning.com/
They are good, I've sed them before a few times and always been happy.
In terms of output I cant quantify it, but their turbo diesel conversions are top notch. The petrol conversions are more subtle, but there is a difference in smoothness.
As for it being undecteable, yes for normal servicing purposes it is, but in a major engine warranty problem I suspect that it could be quickly found, IF BMW wanted to look that far.

Speak to 'RODS' , he is friends with Rob at DMS and has had his 911 tuned to buggery !!
Surely any simple road test of the car would be enough for a dealer to at least suspect soething isn't quite right/standard. I had an Ecutek remap on an Evo 8 earlier this year......supposedley undetectable by Mitsubishi.....dealer ship was able to read every part of the remap/parameters etc. If they suspect something isn't right you can bet your last £ they'll investigate and find it!

Phatgixer (BMW M3 CSL, SL65 AMG) has had work done by DMS at VMAX as well.

One of my customers is friends with Rob and has had his 911 tuned beyond all known factors
DMS carry out work all over the world and have a super reputation! I'm trying to convince my father-in-law to let them tweak his new 545i Sport, after hearing what Rob has done to his M5

I've been in the DMS M5 at the last VMAX, bloody mental machine.
DAZ
Haven't been in that, but went in my customers 911...... I have never been in anything so quick in all my life!!!!! and that was before the super charger
For what it's worth, Superchips did my 2004 330D a couple of weeks ago and it's fantastic:
- way more grunt (c.65 lb / ft of torque)
- better fuel economy (definite 2-3 mpg increase at all speeds)
Best of all, day to day, it feels no different to before but it really moves when you gun it. A long road trip to Spa then the South of France resulted in dusting a Cayenne Turbo and SL Merc and the price was worth it just for the look on their faces!
Really nice guys as well and very low aggravation. They do a lot of work with VW UK so I imagine that the quality of their work speaks for itself.
In summary, if you have a car like a 330D or 530D, I don't know why you wouldn't put a chip on it.
cheers
