The airbag light came on on the dash last night. I changed my steering wheel about 2 weeks ago and I can only imagine that there's a loose connection in the airbag wires that's causing a problem.

So, I'm thinking of buying a reset tool, because I reckon it'll be one of these things that will happen again. Has anyone had any experience of the reset tools? Like on this page:

www.partsgateway.co.uk/cgi-bin/nnm.cgi?pid=19

It might be overkill, but I'm thinking about going this route:

www.mavericktechnology.co.uk/carsoft_bmw.htm

Anyone had any experience with that software?

I had the light come on in my car. Had to have some ring of some sort replaced behind the wheel. Well, that's what they told me

Ah, I know the ring well... erm I'll re-phrase that. It could well be the connection there since I don't think it's brilliant. The problem is that once the light comes on, it stays on and even if the problem is then fixed, the light must be reset with a special tool. Bloody annoying to say the least.

9:30 last night I ran out of ideas and tried pulling the airbag fuse. I got the wrong one initially which set the alarm off. Doh!

I had the same thing happen to me at the weekend. The car is booked ni to the Stealership for next week anyway so they are going to take a look. My questions is, it it a long job to do? i.e. am I going to get fleeced on labour costs?

You have probably damaged the srs slipper ring behind the steering wheel.
have you moved either of the front seats? the wiring under the seats for the belt tensioners is very sensative
