E39 528i steering wheel

Hi all,my car has developed a fault with the multifunction steering wheel controls ie radio,cruise control,horn ect. I think there must be an electrical feed problem as none of these work. Also the air bag warning light is flickering. Is this a common fault and does anybody know whats wrong? Cheers Bob

Sounds like the two connectors behind the steering wheel have come loose - that would be a good place to start looking.
