I've just got a promotion at work & have a bit of inheritance coming my way, my commute will increase, and I'm pretty much set on buying one.

My budget will look to get me a between 2013-2016 car and ideally will want one with pro nav, pan roof & heated wheel, any other options would be a bonus!

Are there any common issues to look for and how do they wear there miles, my budget will get a car with around 80k ish

Any other tips when looking?

I think you mean F31 (2012-2019 model).

Post 2016 will be an LCI model with the newer iDrive (if you go for the Pro Nav) and LED headlight option (much better than the halogens).

Depends on what else you need.
  • Electric towbar
  • Heated seats
  • M-Sport Plus/Pro pack (370mm front brakes, 340mm rear brakes, 442M wheels, sun protection glass, high-beam assist, HK audio)
  • Heads up display
  • 6WB dashboard (fully digital, as the standard is analogue, and the step up to 6WA dashboard just gives you a small digital screen between the dials).
  • Adaptive M-Sport suspension (if you want the adjustability)
  • Adaptive LED headlights (an upgrade to the standard LEDs which use cameras to adjust the beam pattern automatically)
  • Variable sport steering (instead of the sloppy standard servotronic)
  • Active security (folding/dimming mirrors, lane change warning, driving assistant)
  • Reversing cameras / PDC / park assist (can be optioned individually, or as the advanced parking pack)
  • 360º surround view cameras
  • Folding rear headrests (so they don't get in the way of your rear-view mirror)
  • Extended storage
I believe they are all X-Drive, so check the condition of all 4 tyres, as you really want them to match to avoid transfer case issues.

Don't forget that some of the ConnectedDrive services will not work, as the 3G SIM in these cars no longer works, and will fall back to 2G...which means you'll only get RTTI (if you subscribe to it) and the remote services (lock/open doors; flash lights; find my car; etc.). So if it has a later iDrive Evo system your streaming/office apps won't work.

F31 yes

And agree with what's been said

Unless you need xDrive (ie live out in the sticks etc) stick with a 330D RWD

We've got a 2105 325D M Sport Touring and it's a superb car

Yes I've done a lot to it to get it to my standards and future proofing it etc.

At a minimum I'd want pro nav, heated seats (memory seats if you're not too tall), HK stereo, ideally RWD, 370/345mm blue Brembo brakes, power tailgate etc

A lot of 335Ds have been messed with, mapped etc and personally I'd want to stay away from that

Get as factory original as you can, ensuring it's got bags of paperwork to show it's history and maintenance etc (don't rely on the iDrive or stamped service books)...

No paperwork = no sale...

Echoing the above, double and triple check it has heated seats if they're on your 'must have' list, most of the cheaper ones seem to not to have them...
