Looking for advice.
I have an M440D with a locked ECU.
Not sending it to FEMTO to get it unlocked for 1200 quid so next best thing is a tuning box. Anyone have any experience and/or reviews of the Bluespark box?
I've seen the YouTube video that suggests an increase of about 70 bhp (up from 340 to 409)
Or could anyone suggest a different Tuning solution/different box/mod?
Apologies if this is the wrong forum. First time poster
TIA

Top lurking!
No idea, I'd have thought a 440d would have enough tyre shredding power as standard?

They can't mate. Website says they can and when you speak to them in person they can't. Everyone is waiting for the ECU unlocking software to be sorted for anything after 2020/2021

Means you've been a member for years (57 months) without much/any posting.

It's a PH term of endearament!

I'd have thought the N57 had been cracked a while ago for tuning? Maybe yours is a later iteratiton with different ECUs? 400bhp will be nice when you do get it!

Ah I see !!! Yeah, nearly 5 yrs worth !!!
I had a 67 plate 335d X Drive before this one and had that mapped, bigger intercooler and an xhp gear box map put on at Durham Remaps.
Went from 303bhp to 409bhp.
It could catch pigeons...
Never missed a beat in the entire 6 years I had it.

Don't bother; all it does is overfuel

Wait until you can get it properly remapped; surely it's not short on power wink

I tried a bluespark box on my old 335d, was OK, the power increase was noticeable but wasn't anything amazing. I did notice it blackened the exhaust a fair amount, so took it off. I've done a proper remap on pervious cars, and they're much better.
Now I'm in an M340i, so same problem as you with a locked ECU, tried a Racechip GTS and was a better option IMO, though that could be down to the 40i compared to the 35d?
they claimed an extra 71bhp, which I'd say felt about right, but that's just using the old Bum dyno! lol Wasn't like a night and day difference, but you did notice the increase.
Where it was really noticeable was low down grunt, have to say it made the 40i feel very similar to the old 35d for low down shove, but had the benefit of top end power where the diesel dropped off.

Just had a look at Racechip for the 40d, damn it's expensive, sure it was about £350 when I bought mine 2+ years ago (was on offer) but £650 with a claimed +41bhp for the 40d is a bit steep!
