Faulty drivers side window E81
Discussion
I have a 2008 1 series (e81) and a couple of months ago when it was cold and icy the drivers window stopped working, possibly because it was frozen. I don't know too much about cars but this is what I can tell you.
- When I press the window up/down button I can hear some kind of relay clicking under the steering wheel so something is trying to do something.
- I have checked all the fuses that relate to the windows and they all look fine.
- The window doesn't move when I push the rocker in either direction
- The window doesnt move automatically up/down when I open/close the pillarless doors.
- Sometimes when I push the rocker I get a warning symbol pop up on the dash which looks like a window with an exclamation mark on it.
I've watched a couple of youtube videos that show how to access/replace the window motor and the window regulator. Is there a way to diagnose which, if either of these might be at fault?
Many thanks!
