Jayemm on cars: F13 M6 vs F10 M5 reviews
Discussion
More out of curiosity than anything…
I’ve watched both the above reviews fairly recently, and was surprised by the vastly differing opinions Jayemm has on each of them.
I thought the underpinnings were very similar, or am I missing something? Was there something wrong with the M5 he drove?
Videos, for reference:

To sum up the videos he thought the F13 M6 was fantastic and the F10 M5 was disappointing.
The main source of his disappointment was the M5's lacklustre performance, so there was clearly something wrong with the car he was testing because whatever shortcomings the F10 M5 might have, lacklustre performance isn't one of them.
This was pointed out numerous times in the comments section of the video.

I suspected this was probably the case, but watch YouTube on a TV, so am not party to any comments.
I had a 2012 F10 M5, bought as ex-demonstrator on c1,500 miles. I ran the car up to about 65,000 miles and kept it until 2018 when I changed it for a new 2018 M6 GC which I have done just over 30,000 miles and still have.
The M6 has the competition pack so has an extra 30-40 bhp.
At the time I changed, I thought the M6 was marginally better in handling and performance but my experience is only based on driving on the road where it is difficult to get near the limit. The drivetrain of both cars is the same and I imagine a comp pack M5 would feel virtually identical to drive as a M6GC comp pack for most people.
The M6 has a much nicer interior and IMO looks a lot better externally, but the M6 sacrifices some practicality in rear space and accessibility to the boot.
But IMO both M5 and M6 are great cars with a broad range of ability.

The one he was testing did look a bit down at heel, it also sounds like he's short shifting on the acceleration runs which wouldn't help either.
