320 CD SE or Golf GTI?

Hi All,

Company car up for renewal - I was thinking of the new Golf GTI as it has received a universally good write up. However, our fleet manager can source me a 320 diesel coupe for similar money with extras thrown in (leather/upgraded alloys). The BMW seems a good deal (presumably they are keen to shift the old shape prior to the new one coming out?) and the tax is cheaper.

What would you do? I have an elise for weekend use so not totally focussed on performance but I do want something with good driving dynamics.

Anyone driven both?

Not driven both but I do run a 320cd and it really is a very, very good car.

Can you get a test drive in both?

No time for test drive as the BMW is available with free upgrades but the offer expires this week so quick decision required.

I have decided to go for it. Good to hear it sounds like the right choice.
